It promotes public awareness of the contribution of animals and veterinarians to the Indian society.
Veterinary Association of Indian (VAI), is the main professional organisation of the veterinarians of the country swearing allegiance to World Veterinary Association and Commonwealth Veterinary Association . This association has more than 2000 members engaged in various avenues as scientists, researchers, wildlife managers, breeding experts, teaching faculty, field practitioners etc .Being a professional body, we have been straining every nerve to enhance the competence by capacity building sessions and skill development programs. Due thrust is also given to inculcate professional values and ethics in our young veterinarians which are the hallmarks of a noble professional.
The VAI looks forward to serving veterinarians of India for years to come.

The Veterinary Association of India (VAI) is recognised and respected as the trusted and influential voice of Indian & global veterinary medicine.
To represent the veterinary profession in India in furthering its objectives and aspirations in technical, socio-economical and policy aspects of veterinary medicine and animal sciences at regional, national and international levels.
Mission:
To provide global leadership for the veterinary profession and promote animal health and welfare and public health, through advocacy, education, and partnership.
To provide a national forum for all members of the veterinary profession in India to discuss the various issues of importance to the profession, reach consensus and launch programmes for their fulfillment. This includes promoting their rights and encouraging the highest professional standards of competence, education, ethics and services in order to advance animal health, animal productivity, veterinary public health, aquaculture, animal welfare, conservation of wildlife and biodiversity, environmental protection and sustainability, and veterinary support during disasters and emergencies so as to improve the quality of life of the human and animal populations in India.
Objectives:
1. The objectives of the association shall be to:
a. Promote the professional knowledge of its members.
b. Improve animal health and development of the livestock wealth of the Country.
c. Create esprit-de-corps among its members.
d. Maintain the honour and dignity and to safeguard the rights and interest of the profession.
e. Promote activities which directly or indirectly constitute to furtherance of the the above objectives.
