BLUE CROSS SOS is a national-level animal welfare initiative under the aegis of AgroVet Research and Development Foundation (ARDF). Committed to being “the first response and final refuge” for animals in distress, this initiative brings together veterinarians, animal lovers, volunteers, policymakers, NGOs, and communities to build a compassionate, cruelty-free, and sustainable India.

We operate across the full spectrum of animal welfare—rescue, rehabilitation, wildlife treatment, birth control, vaccination, protection, legal advocacy, and ethical care—covering stray, companion, livestock, and wild animals, both large and small, and those used in entertainment, transport, or research.

    🌍 VISION

To build a sustainable and humane nation where every animal—stray, wild, domestic, or farmed—is treated with dignity, compassion, and justice, promoting animal rights and well-being across urban, rural, and forest ecosystems.

    🎯 MISSION

Emergency Response & Rescue: Provide rapid response services for injured, sick, or distressed animals, including strays, livestock, and wildlife.

Wildlife Rescue & Treatment: Collaborate with forest departments and wildlife authorities for the rescue, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and release of wild animals, aligned with the Wildlife Protection Act.

Animal Birth Control (ABC) & Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV): Execute ABC programs and large-scale ARV drives to control stray animal populations humanely and eliminate rabies.

Comprehensive Animal Welfare Activities: Undertake all types of animal welfare programs—from feeding drives, mobile clinics, and adoption camps to habitat restoration for wild species and cruelty prevention for working and performing animals.

Policy & Legal Advocacy: Support and propagate the mandates of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), including:

Prevention of cruelty to animals under the PCA Act, 1960

Standardization of shelter homes, gaushalas, and rescue facilities

Regulation of animal breeding, experimentation, and entertainment

Recognition and support to registered Animal Welfare Organizations (AWOs)

Legal and institutional mechanisms to protect animals across all sectors

Education & Awareness: Conduct campaigns on responsible pet ownership, wildlife protection, humane farming, and animal laws, engaging schools, colleges, and communities.

Community Engagement: Train and support local animal workers, SHGs, youth volunteers, and paravets to be on-ground ambassadors of animal welfare.

Partnership & Capacity Building: Work with AH & forest departments, law enforcement, veterinary institutes, panchayati raj institutions, and NGOs to expand infrastructure and service delivery.

Sustainable Practices: Advocate for cruelty-free animal husbandry, eco-friendly poultry management, and the One Health approach aligned with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Technology & Innovation: Develop digital platforms and mobile apps for cruelty reporting, rescue coordination, wildlife treatment alerts, and animal adoption.
